The unmapped railroad that keeps Japan running.
Mountains cover 70% of Japan's land. Chigusa Giken's monorails solve the transport challenges this terrain creates for agriculture, forestry, and infrastructure construction. Built on proprietary technology in pursuit of "easier, faster, safer," they can carry three-ton heavy machinery up 45-degree slopes with complete safety. You won't find these railways on any route map — yet this "unmapped railroad" powers the construction sites and infrastructure that support daily life in Japan. This project places Chigusa Giken's long-held philosophy of "Simple and Safe" at the core of its brand, making it visible through logos, uniforms, signage, and business cards.
Issue
Solid engineering, hidden from view.
Chigusa Giken Kogyo is a specialized manufacturer that designs and builds industrial monorails, tackling transport challenges in agriculture, forestry, and infrastructure construction. Yet the company had no brand visuals to convey its technical strength, hospitality, and values. Its core philosophy of "easy and safe" had never taken visible form. This project began with a single goal: to bring Chigusa's hidden potential into the light.

Creation
Engraving Chigusa's philosophy into the logo.
As the starting point of the brand, we created a logo guideline. We added "Simple and Safe" — a slogan that clearly expresses the company's commitment to ease and safety — to the existing corporate logo, giving it a role as a message carrier. The logotype uses an original font: the curve of the character "ぐ" draws on the shape of a key safety component, while "ノ" evokes a monorail climbing powerfully up a slope. The brand colors are defined as orange (RGB 253/97/58) and black, unifying all color variations.
Just as a monorail moves from site to site, maintained and repaired along the way, we approached the old logo not as something to discard but as something to repair.

Future
Wearing the brand, broadcasting from the field.
Built on the logo and visual identity, the brand now extends to workwear, signage, and business cards. Through Instagram, the company shares its products in action and the people behind them. Wearing the brand from head to toe, Chigusa Giken Kogyo will keep telling the world what it does, what it builds, and which work sites it supports.
